Telework: Urban Form, Energy Consumption, and Greenhouse Gas Implications
نویسندگان
چکیده
A primary motivation of telework policy is to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Using a numerical simulation of the standard urban model, we show telework causes sprawl, calling into question the idea that telework decreases energy consumption. Overall effects depend on wage changes due to telework, land use regulation such as height limits or greenbelts, and the telework participation rate. While energy consumption increases in some scenarios, emissions may fall due to changes in the energy mix between gasoline and other sources. JEL Codes: R11, R28, C60

Comparison of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission footprint caused by agricultural products in greenhouses and open field in Iran
Decisions can be taken to increase energy efficiency and to mitigate the emissions to the environment by examining the energy audit and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions footprint of crop production in different ways and in different regions, with comparable principles. In this study, energy consumption and energy indices of tomatoes production in four regions of Iran including East Azerbaijan...

This paper describes the potential of telecommuting in reducing the consumption of petroleum-based fuels and greenhouse gas emissions in the transportation system of a multi-nucleated urban region. The formation of multi-nucleated urban regions and commuting needs are described. In support of the sustainability objective, telecommuting as a supplemental measure to providing a balance of jobs an...
